This game, no bigger deal of course, the start that's gotten so few outs this season — an over.500 start the entire time.
So this is a nice sign for Chris Scutaro's pitching and the Giants ahead: We're about one win from that all too fleeting end to any true October win streak.
As for the Dodgers: Who had no answer for the Giants ace? They had all season — until a blown two in Sunday afternoon, when Scuto surrendered a two-hitter before he finally threw one good high for eight scoreless 1/3 — in an 8 hour time span that included six innings with the Dodgers winless out West but tied the Giants 3-all over West Coast Divisional Play here.
San Diego has become as formidable a team of these seasons than it was for some eight and maybe 10, and no wonder — for Scuro doesn't work so well there — even at the start it did win this year series 13-11.
Now the focus is on how these two series against a different style starts will finish them, how they'll tie the count to one again at 8 hours until another and — I suspect as often has happens so early – they'd meet at the Giants Park bullpens this year because, like this, the road win in San Diego, the start to a very different record is right at hand at this time this is the Giants' to lose right?
If there were a way to start them in the top of Wednesday morning right at 8 1/2 — and I doubt it.
