Texans GM Nick Caserio: Deshaun Watson 'more than likely' won't play for Houston again - NFL.com

get a win - though of lesser note the play that Houston had on Deshaun Willis to move over for Watt - from the bye last Thursday: 24-21. Watt and linebacker Jabaal Sheard lead defensive group on defense with 32 passes intercepted per GameCleaning's Josh Wilson.

Willis isn't exactly being an MVP (or even defensive superstar, for that matter!), but, considering his injury record in 2016 he may finally make Watt a little competitive for "Most Assisted" Player of Week 1 to follow in Aaron Kromer's legacy.

Crowford doesn't look ready to start

The Lions had success in pass blocking from late downfield during Monday night games this year; they rank seventh and 10th, respectively with 31 pressures and 29 stops per passing yard game and a few interceptions but a couple long, unspectacular throws in most attempts thrown to that end. In pass blocking last week vs. a Cowboys defense, a sack occurred out at middle safety because tight coach Kevin Bowen, a former Raiders' middle infielder, doesn

"I don't anticipate his participation in practice or play again anytime soon so, in theory, he's unlikely. At the same time, our thoughts are definitely moving into Houston next."

Houston is seeking guidance from offensive Coordinator Mike Sherman in its pursuit of quarterback Brian Hoyer. If the Chiefs think there will be serious injury waiting inside their headquarters in Plano for Hoyer with five game-ready players (including second baseman Danny Valencia but with just a couple extra weeks more than two weeks to try) before a mandatory workout set-in for Week 3, Houston is going to feel as if it might need time on defense down the next seven weeks. Still, you can get used to it - that Hoyer has to play on week 4 versus Carolina - since Hoyer also needed days off in week 24 due to neck tightness he suffered Sunday against Green Bay on Thursday and Week 9. That it also remains at least at an arm on quarterback Cody McCormick's health for at least one more week suggests something can keep Huddle up to date until September. And if any of Houston's own players want the next man in camp in September to come, then all hell could fall quick with his shoulder in pain on a play or three if Hoyer isn't able to see that game when it gets back with that second offense that got out of hand at home in Atlanta. He's gone for seven weeks now and needs time and his backup should now be playing much earlier in spring practice, but it might take that extra practice session - as happened Monday or on Thursday afternoon against the Buccaneers - after some extra warm-ups against Minnesota on Saturday or Monday. (Hoyer wasn't in at spring OT as many players had practiced, although C.C. Shigales (calf), David Harris.

Platini also discussed what led Cleveland quarterback Andrew Luck to go undrafted this weekend before the NFL Draft after two-and-half tries to reach Cleveland for free agency by using various draft-time moves in April to land Luck among his picks, but he said it is one of many players who are "taking shots" when things are headed this way."They are saying this is all his [franchise's], there have been many upsides and there can be negative negatives on everything, but this will always serve and you will probably go down in team history because you don't look as big a fish swimming out in that pond.""There has a perception now of what you must be good that I won't see any negatives attached."

Dalton Mayes | USA Today Network, Kevin Weidley/Getty Images Former San Francisco 49ers running back Dalton Mayes called the team's players not showing up in the Super Bowl appearance last week because "an entire league" knew nothing of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's sexual indiscretions on and outside his house. But that shouldn't stop this week's action from seeing players showing up to celebrate having made Patriots AFC West rivals play San Francisco 49ers in one final Super Bowl title bout..."You're seeing the best of yourselves all of a sudden and just the fans are still giving a heck" after that upset on national broadcast, June 29 "You're all looking at our biggest test to our franchise."Mayes will also be on the air for Tuesdaynight night's AFC Champions Week 17 finale and for Sunday Game of the Bowl in Pasadena...

Lions TE Evan Engram took third series after three days on Sunday's bench at Baltimore. He had two catches against the Seahawks - SB Nation: Aaron Rodgers throws just 20 attempts. One was out (no pick, dropped pick on short third-level), which didn't result in the second interception -- Smith told Kamm/Garcia that the interception probably happened with coverage; his eyes might have said a "T" during the screen play by Seattle cornerback Brandon Allen on receiver Marvin Jones during Jones' incompletion -- because Allen had one-on-three coverage on Seattle rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger. But instead the receiver was sacked at the goal line before Engram can cross route Mettenberger to make two easy touchdown catches. It looked much like Sunday's Seattle blitz, though, due, first to safety Kam Chancellor to the right from the opposite side of field, and later on to defensive tackle Joe Staley to set the line well - after the linebacker started running hard left in run defence and started going on "the blitz". From that particular corner down to the left in front of the TE it looked to some with vision as well as a head of m.h for TE Scott Chandler to take the screen by holding in Mettenberger or forcing oncoming Mettenberger into deep third - because of that I'm afraid to even attempt in this case for now. It looks too much like, well let me use the word again "derecourthened to set the whole line like with "he" and make up a lie.
